BEST CAMERAS FOR VIDEOGRAPHERS ON A BUDGET - OCT 2023

Getting your foot in the door as a videographer in 2023 doesn’t have to be hard. Long gone are the day’s of needing to invest your life savings into a camera just to be able to record at 4K. Today were going to be covering our best camera recommendations for videographers on a budget in 2023.

Canon EOS M50 Mk ii

Kicking off the list we have the Canon M50 mark 2. This little workhorse has the ability to record in 4K at 30fps as well as full HD at 60fps. Both resolutions are going to provide you with a picture quality good enough to bring your ideas to life. Equipped with a 24.1 Megapixel sensor, the M50 mark 2 is also a great camera for photography. With a RRP of £599.99, this is a brilliant starting point for all videographers with a tighter budget.

Sony ZV-E10

Next up on the list in the Sony ZV-E10. Similar to the Canon, the Sony can record in full 4K up to 30fps. However, the Sony has the ability to record up to 120fps in full HD allowing you to create 4x slo-motion footage. So if you’re a videographer who values slo-motion performance then the Sony might have your vote in this debate. The Sony ZV-E10 comes in at a RRP of £679.00 making it slightly more expensive than the Canon, but for the additional slo-motion performance it’s more than worth it.

Your Smartphone

For the final camera, we predict that for 90% of you it’s going to be free… And that’s because it’s your phone! Smartphone cameras have come such a long way in the last 5 years, to the point where select iPhones and Androids can even record in LOG. Having great gear should be the least of your worries when you’re a beginner on a budget. Instead, focus your energy into learning how to make your camera work for you.
